Sandiaga and Gibran Agree to Develop Arts and Creative Economy for Economic Recovery

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy ( Menparekraf ) Sandiaga Uno and Mayor of Solo Gibran Rakabuming Raka agreed to develop arts and creative economy (ekraf) for recovery as well as economic improvement for the community.
"There are quite a lot of jobs created to work on a puppet set ," said Sandiaga Uno in his statement on Saturday (9/10/2021) during a working visit to Solo, Central Java.

According to him, the art of wayang is not only focused on staging, but also making wayang puppets and also inviting other jobs.

Sandi saw that the puppet show required around 30-40 people to be involved. This of course can improve the community's economy for the better. In addition, making one set of puppets requires 400 puppets and can absorb many workers. Therefore, it also provides assistance and training to improve skills.
"Innovation and adaptation to this pandemic situation must be adjusted," he said.

Meanwhile, the performances are carried out in a hybrid manner , both live and off air . For those who are off air, it is indeed limited, but it is hoped that with online performances , many can see it. "We'll adjust, if hybrid we can gratiskan and offline also we asked to pay," he said.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Solo Gibran also expressed the same thing, where the city he leads has entered level 2 so that it can enter the stage of permitting staging but with hybrid conditions.
"We have managed to get down to level 2 and we hope to be able to start staging even though it is limited," he said.

According to him, this activity is expected to improve the economy of the Solo community. So he hopes that artists can also jointly maintain health protocols so that staging activities can continue.

Gibran continued, another thing that was discussed was the current condition with the decline in the PPKM level. Where a number of easing have been carried out and are expected to restore the economy that had been affected.
"This is what our leeway has been down to level two, what kind of support from the ministry. The minister's own visit has been an appreciation support for artists who have been affected during PPKM," he said.

The tourism potential in the city of Solo itself, said Gibran, is quite a lot. Such as wayang arts, SIPA, batik and also other tourism potential.
"The potential is like wayang, SIPA, batik. The potential is big. The city is pursuing its infrastructure, yesterday was assisted by the Director General of Human Settlements, as long as PPKM does not stop," he said.

As is known, President Joko Widodo's eldest son (Jokowi) accompanied Sandiaga during a working visit to a number of locations in Karanganyar and Solo.

The two even shopped for various MSME products while reviewing the Indonesian Creative Appreciation (AKI) activity at De Tjolomadu, Friday (8/10/2021) night.

Gibran also had time to buy a small bag or slim bag for passwords for Rp. 500 thousand. The slim bag made by Janedan is made of cowhide which is shaped into a bag without any stitches.

Sandiaga admitted that he shared a car with Gibran while watching the Spectacular Hybrid Festival Performance, Solo International Performing Arts (SIPA) 2021 at Bengawan Solo Park, Taru Jurug Animal Park, Solo, Friday (8/10/2021).

Sandiaga said that during the trip, he and Gibran exchanged ideas regarding economic conditions in Solo. According to him, there are signs of an economic revival after the Covid-19 pandemic.
