GKR Mangkubumi: "Yogyakarta Palace Refuses to Release Land for Toll Roads"

The Yogyakarta Palace confirmed that it would not relinquish its land for a toll road construction project in DIY.
This statement was conveyed directly by the eldest daughter of Sultan HB X, GKR Mangkubumi.

GKR Mangkubumi said that his party had coordinated with the Ministry of PUPR regarding the status of the Sultan Ground or land belonging to the Yogyakarta Kraton.

"We have already said that. We don't want our land to be lost. What is certain is that we do not want any release (of Sultan Ground)," said GKR Mangkubumi at the Yogyakarta Governor's Office Complex, Thursday (14/4).

Right to Use Without Lease
However, GKR Mangkubumi said that the toll road can still be built on the Sultan Ground.
It's just the status of the right to use without a lease.

"Yeah, just use it. The important thing is that our land is not lost. Yes, please, if you want the system (right to use without rent) go ahead. Otherwise, we don't need toll roads," said GKR Mangkubumi.

GKR Mangkubumi added that so far he did not know the exact area of the Sultan Ground land affected by the toll road construction.

"Don't know how wide it is. A lot in total. There are still those who are in the liberation stage," concluded GKR Mangkubumi.• (BI)
